SSTR5为G-蛋白偶联的细胞膜受体,SSTR5的表达与肿瘤的分布、发生和发展中起重要作用。
Somatostatin acts at many sites to inhibit the release of many hormones and other secretory proteins. The biological effects of somatostatin are probably mediated by a family of G protein-coupled receptors that are expressed in a tissue-specific manner. SSTR5 is a member of the superfamily of receptors having seven transmembrane segments.SSTR5 has been reported to be expressed in adrenal, aorta, brain, breast, eye, heart, pancreas, prostate, skeletal muscle, small intestine, and thyroid. ESTs have been isolated from cartilage libraries.
